How can I contribute?
Hydrognomon is a free software and a
open source application. Anyone can download and use the
application and in addition can get the
source code and if has the appropriate technical
skills can modify and add to the code. Moreover,
the "open source philosophy" of the software,
encourages the hydrognomon users community to
participate in the development and production process.
There are many ways you, an individual or an organisation,
can contribute to the development
and maintenance of the Hydrognomon software, below are listed
some of them:
- You can just send us any bugs and malfunctions
you detect. This is the most helpful and important
contribution that helps us to radically improve the software quality.
It does not require programming skills, neither any financial expense,
just regular use of the software. You can either send-us e-mail reports
describing the steps to reproduce the problems you track (use the e-mail
address
bugs@hydrognomon.org
), or even search and register bugs directly into the
bug tracking system
we are using.
- Send us your ideas about new features and enhancements.
- Be an active hydrognomon software developer. Start by
visiting openmeteo.org
and get involved!
- Hire a developer to work on new features you wish to be
included into Hydrognomon. In this case you can help the
community making these additions widely available by
using the openmeteo.org framework and uploading your
updates.
- Help to improve graphics (icons, bitmaps, logos, etc.) and
web pages to make the software more attractive.
- Finally you can finance or hire someone for the
translation of the full documentation in English and / or other
languages. (Full documentation is currently available
only in Greek).
Don't hesitate to contact us for sending your ideas and
your comments.
